The Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has taken fellow star Antonio Banderas’s advice and bought a €4 million mansion in the glitzy Andalusian tourist town.
According to online celebrity magazine Vaniatis, the academy award winner is planning on investing big money in Marbella’s real estate, having just bought a luxurious mansion in the mountains which look on to the Spanish coastal town.
The 1,000-square metre property is reported to include a 400-square metre villa with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a billiard room.
Clooney has been visiting Málaga for several years and was spotted in Marbella over Christmas.
The Oscar-winning star is keeping a low profile in Spain and wants to use his Marbella home as a place for rest and relaxation.
It has also been rumoured in the Spanish press that Clooney has plans to invest money into a real estate business near Marbella Club.
Spain is one of the 28 countries that are part of the European Union and is one of the 19 countries in the euro area. With an area of 505,370 square kilometers, Spain is the fourth largest country on the European continent and one of the most mountainous, with an average height of 650 meters above sea level. The country is divided into mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands (in the Mediterranean), the Canary Islands (in the Atlantic) and Ceuta and Melilla (in North Africa). The territory is organized into a total of 17 autonomous communities, 50 provinces, two autonomous cities (Ceuta and Melilla), and has a total population of nearly 46.5 million inhabitants, according to the 2016 census.
Seen from the outside world, the two most attractive features of Spain are the beaches and the important annual sunny weather. The country has more than 4,900 kilometers of coastline, receives more than 2,500 hours of sunshine a year and has a mild climate most of the year. The only places in Spain that experience less than 2000 hours of sunshine per year – and more rainfall than the rest of the country – are the Cantabrian coast and mountainous regions. After France and the United States, Spain is the First most visited country in the world, with 75.6 million visitors in 2018, according to data from the World Tourism Organization. Tourism is an important part of Spanish GDP (26%) and the construction sector (10.6%).
